Overview
A chic boutique rustic luxe resort hidden amidst lush tropical rainforest, Japamala is idyllically located on the tiny tropical and unspoilt paradise of Tioman Island, east of Peninsular Malaysia. The resort boasts a very different and unique holiday experience with luxurious rooms emerging from the natural landscape in a series of wooden chalets, hillside and sea cliff sarangs as well as beachside villas – each room unique in its layout and perfect for elegant living.
A haven for relaxation, Tioman remains untouched by tourism – we think it’s the perfect place to come to unwind, de-stress and take in the spectacular landscape and beautiful nature all around. For further relaxation, the luxurious feel of the Samadhi Spa is perfect.
Of course, if you feel the need to be active after a few days of rest, the resort offers plenty of activities, including a popular trek through the jungle to a stunning sunset viewing point. And once the day is over, Japamala has three fantastic restaurants you can retire to: Tamarind, an open air treasure serving up delicious Asian cuisine, Mandi-Mandi, set on stilts over the water and serving mainly BBQ and grills, as well as the more recently opened Il Tempio offering hearty Italian fare and signature pasta dishes.
