Tucked away on the remote island of Vihamanaafushi, Kurumba is a beautiful retreat, fusing luxurious amenities and impeccable service with authentic Maldivian charm. We love how this resort sticks to its roots, offering traditional island experiences to guests of every age.

This is one of our favourite family properties in the Maldives. The first private island resort in this tropical nation, Kurumba oozes that desirable castaway feel, offering the classic white sands, swaying palms and crystal clear lagoons that have become synonymous with the Indian Ocean. Though remote and secluded, this resort is full of fun surprises for all of the family, boasting brilliant entertainment to keep everyone happy and smiling.

The villas and bungalows here are opulent and stylish, fusing contemporary stylings with rustic thatched roofs, which add an authentic island touch. We know you’ll enjoy staying in the Deluxe and Presidential Pool Villas with their glistening private pools and gardens, or you could enjoy a relaxing stay right by the sugary beach in the Beachfront Deluxe Bungalow or Beach Villa with Jacuzzi. The rooms evoke a sense of peacefulness, ideal for an idyllic getaway for two, or perfect for a bit of quiet time with the family before heading out for some exciting activities.

Boasting a lively timetable of great entertainment, activities and social events, there’s something for everyone here. We find the best days are those spent enjoying the resort’s ‘majaa’ – Maldivian for fun, this cool concept offers families a whole host of island experiences, including bodu beru Madlivian dance lessons, coconut arts and crafts, fish feeding, and drum lessons. There’s even a fantastic kid’s club, so children can make likeminded friends whilst the adults indulge in a bit of R&R by the pool or on the beach.
