Days 4 - 11
Borneo
An endlessly captivating and incredible region of the world, Borneo is home to some of the planets most wildlife-rich rainforests and magnificent landscapes. This is a destination for nature and wilderness lovers; divided into two states, Sabah is famous for its orangutans and the spectacular Mount Kinabalu, whilst Sarawak is a virtually untouched and tourist-free jungle. During your time here, there will be ample opportunity to discover the diverse wildlife, including rare birdlife, monkeys, bears, rhinos, and of course, orangutans – there are some truly stunning spots for hikes and treks through the rainforest too.
In addition, we recommend a trek up Mount Kinabalu, the tallest mountain in Malaysia, for spectacular views. In the north of Sabah, you’ll stumble upon a number of very picturesque beaches, and a visit to the Orangutan Sanctuary is a must to get an up-close glimpse at these amazing creatures. You can even find some fantastic locations for a fun night out, especially around Kota Kinabalu.
