Flights and transfers

You can’t fly direct to Penang. First you’ll need to get to Kuala Lumpur’s international hub airport before catching a domestic flight to Penang Bayan Lepas International Airport.

Transportation

Taxis are a useful but relatively expensive way of getting around. Try to make sure you get in one that uses a metre. Three-wheeled carts pulled by humans, called trishaws, are useful if you don’t need to get very far or would like a tour of the city. Buses are a cheap way of getting around.
