The underdeveloped and pristine South Andros Island is home to this award-winning nature resort. Eleven private bungalows line a private, white-sand beach that is only accessible by boat.
Excellent food and wine accompany fantastic snorkelling, sailing, kayaking, diving, fly-fishing and the best of coconut-palm strung hammocks.
The hotel caters to the discerning few who seek the best of personal service in the most pristine of environments.
Tiamo is one of the most progressive and environmentally sensitive developments in the world. Tiamo is 100% solar powered, has utilized green building practice, non-intrusive water management practices and focuses on passive recreation to maximize guest’s appreciation for the sensitivity and fragility of the surrounding environment.
Andros Island, the largest and least explored island is famous for Andros Barrier Reef (third largest in the world) which lies just offshore. The Southern tip of Andros is an island on it’s own. The population of South Andros is about 2500 with the nearest airport being Congo Town. Regular scheduled flights operate twice daily from Nassau, or you can even charter your own plane or seaplane!
Your introduction to the stunning natural beauty of South Andros Island begins even before you arrive at Tiamo. No roads lead to Tiamo. A pleasant and picturesque fifteen-minute boat ride will carry you to your first vision of paradise – a simple wooden dock set upon a private, white sand beach.
