Tanzania Kifaru 4x4 Safari

Full Board 6 nights from €2,949 per person

This six-night safari has you exploring the most famous game areas in the northern region of Tanzania, visiting the famous Serengeti National Park as well as the iconic Ngorongoro Crater. This safari is carefully designed to allow maximum quality game viewing time possible within the economies of a driving rather than a flying safari. Operating every week, starting and finishing in Kilimanjaro or Arusha, this is an easy itinerary to combine with a beach stay in Zanzibar.

The safari starts on a Saturday, and you’ll stay at three game locations: Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park, and the Ngorongoro Crater. The 4x4 purpose-built safari vehicle takes up to seven people on each journey, so you’re guaranteed excellent views.

This Safari can be booked on a private basis.

Important Luggage Restriction: Soft Sided Bags only max weight 15kg.  Larger bags for your onward journey to a beach location can be stored in Arusha for a small fee

Day 2

You will have a very relaxed start to your safari adventure with breakfast and the morning at leisure to help you get into the time zone.

After lunch, your safari starts with a drive to Lake Manyara National Park. The journey is around two hours, 125km. Check in and enjoy the views overlooking the park before enjoying your evening meal.

Overnight: Lake Manyara Serena Lodge, Full Board

Day 3

An early start today with a game drive straight after breakfast.  You will experience the diverse wildlife and differing terrain.  You will pass through dense forest and open grassy plains to see the different wildlife within the park.

You will return to the lodge for lunch before setting off to the Serengeti.  This will be your longest drive taking around 4 hours, 200km.  In reality it will take longer than this as most of your journey will be passing through the Serengeti National Park and your driver will make multiple stops to showcase some of the amazing wildlife you will start to spot as you pass through the most exciting game park in Tanzania.

Overnight: Serengeti Serena Lodge, Full Board

Day 4

You will have a choice of activities today.  Either option involve an early start to catch the best game viewing of the day.

You can either take an early breakfast and a game drive with your driver and start to explore the wonders of the Serengeti, or optionally (extra costs – ask for details) you can take a balloon safari which leaves very early and then experience a bush breakfast on landing.

After either option, you will return to the lodge for lunch.

You will have a later afternoon game drive to explore new areas of the Serengeti.  The Serengeti is well known for its extensive wildlife so you will be able to track and see Lions, Elephant, Rhinoceros, Giraffe and your driver will try his best to spot Cheetah and Leopard for you which is a very exciting experience.

Overnight: Serengeti Serena Lodge, Full Board

Day 5

An early breakfast and check out will have you on the road early today.  It is time to head to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Your journey time is around 3 hours, 150 km plus of course stopping time as almost all of your journey again is passing through the Serengeti giving you time for those last precious wildlife spots.

You will enjoy a pic-nic lunch on route arriving at your hotel in time to enjoy the afternoon at leisure and dinner at the lodge.

Overnight: Ngorongoro Serena Lodge, Full Board

Day 6

A very early start again today as you will drive to the crater rim and descend into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to 30,000 animals. This makes it one of the most unique and densely populated wildlife areas in the world.  You will be able to see the resident Lions and the huge bull elephants that dominate this landscape amongst many other species.

To make the most of your day, you will take a picnic lunch with you that you will have on the crater's floor in a nice spot by one of the lakes.

As the sun starts to set, you will make your way back up to the top of the crater and back to your lodge for your evening meal and reflect on the wonderful sites you  have seen.

Overnight: Ngorongoro Serena Lodge, Full Board

Day 7

It is definitely worth rising early today to see the sun rise over the craters eastern rim. Enjoy breakfast and then its time to head to Arusha or Kilimanjaro, around a three hours drive, 175km,  for your return home or onward journey for the remainder of your trip.

We highly recommend adding one of our Zanzibar hotels to the end of this safari making a very relaxing beach stay at the end of a busy safari.
