Colourful and unmistakably Mauritian, this elegant adult-only hotel offers relaxed vibes along the east coast of the island. Located close to the quaint fishing village Trou d’Eau Douce, we love that every room has a beautiful sea view, and that this boutique hotel is centred on relaxation and sustainability.

Tropical Attitude is eco-committed, and takes valuable steps to protect the island and boost local economies and communities. The hotel has zero single-use plastic, only offers non-motorised water sports, buys suppliers from local producers, and even features a Bulk Shop where you can fill your mini bar with delicious treats like pink-salted peanuts and banana chips.

The architecture is infused with typical Creole charm, decorated with bright colours that mimic the vibrant sunshine. The accommodation is bright and breezy, with plenty of room to relax, and calming Mediterranean inspired décor. For the ultimate treat, why not book a Villa and enjoy your own private garden and swimming pool.

There are a few excellent dining options here too. Enjoy typical Mauritian favourites at Bor Lamer, or in the form of tapas at Kot Nou. Moonrise is a wonderful option for a romantic seafood dinner, whilst Bar Sea-U is a fun bar with swing seats, sandy floors and rum cocktails. The signature food cart, Taba-J, embodies laidback island life with its delicious Mauritian street food on offer for lunch and dinner.

This lovely hotel is located along the east coast of Mauritius, close to the fishing village of Trou d’Eau Douce and beautiful Ile aux Cerfs. We love that the hotel overlooks an idyllic lagoon.

  • Couple Seafront Room – 25sqm rooms featuring a double bed and the standard amenities. Sleeps two adults.
  • Couple Deluxe Room – 30sqm rooms located on the beachfront and on the ground floor. Offering more space and the standard amenities.
  • Villa – 60sqm villas, featuring a private garden with a swimming pool and a lovely shower room, plus the standard amenities.

  • Bor Lamer – The main restaurant, serving Mauritian dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including smoked marlin, fish rougaille and grilled squid salads. Includes buffet or a la carte.
  • Kot Nou – A cosy and charming restaurant serving local recipes in the form of tapas.
  • Taba-J – A fun caravan offering traditional Mauritian street food, including vibrant chutneys, chilli cakes and rotis that you can enjoy al fresco.
  • Moonrise – An elegant seafood restaurant serving sublime lobster dinners (extra cost).
  • Bar Sea-U – A lovely mosaic bar with a sandy floor, swing seats and fabulous rum cocktails.
  • Teabaz – A unique tea bar where you can try a variety of teas. Be sure to try the two signature flavours, cardamom-vanilla and passion fruit-mango-vanilla served in upcycled tea glasses.
