Useful facts for your holiday to Koh Chang

Flight and Transfers

With no direct flights to Koh Chang from Ireland, your best option is to fly to Bangkok from Dublin with an approximate flight time of 12 hours. From here you’ll fly to Trat airport, which only takes around 45 minutes, although you may have to wait some time at Bangkok as there are only two daily flights to Trat.

Visa Requirements

No visa is required, but you will need six months validity on your passport, an onward/return ticket and proof of sufficient funds for the duration of your trip.

Language

Thai is the official language but some will be able to speak at least passable English.

Transportation

Songthaews are the main mode of transport. They are pickup trucks that function as minibuses. You can also rent a motorbike if you feel confident enough to drive one.

Currency

The Thai baht is the official currency.
