Flights and Transfers

Flights from Dublin to Kuala Lumpur International Airport take around 16 hours

Visa Requirements

Irish passport holders do not require a visa.

Malay is the official language, although English is quite commonly spoken as a second language.

Getting around Kuala Lumpur is relatively easy thanks to a broad public transport system. There’s a monorail and urban rail system, however it is run by separate companies and trying to navigate between the two is sometimes a pain. There are plentiful taxis, but they should not be used during rush hours as traffic comes to a halt. Buses are available and are quite cheap. Walking is also a possibility if you only want to get around the city centre.

The ringgit is the official currency.
