Overview
A wonderful tour of China including Beijing, Xian, Chongqing, Yichang, Shanghai, Suzhou plus a few days on the famous Yangtze River. Not only Peking for Tiananmen Square, the Great Wall; Shanghai for the Bund and a glimpse of this rapidly growing city, Xian for the Terracotta Warriors but also the Yangtse river on a cruise through the gorges and a visit to the high dam.This is a full itinerary, so you will need lots of energy but you will get to experience all the highlights of this massive and fascinating country. Day 1 (Wed)
Arrive in Beijing
Meet and transfer to the Beijing Presidential Hotel
Day 2 (Thu)
Beijing
Today you will visit Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and the Summer Palace. An optional excursion to a Kung Fu Show with Peking Duck dinner in the evening is also available to you.

Day 3 (Fri)
Badaling Great Wall
Today visit the Badaling Great Wall for a minimum of 2 hours with a Jade stone workshop visit en route. There will be a chance to take photos at the Bird Nest & Water Cube.

Day 4 (Sat)
Beijing
In the morning visit the Temple of Heaven and watch the locals limbering up for their morning excercise including Chinese Tai Chi. Continue on to visit a pearl factory. Then on to a tour of Hutong by rickshaw followed by a home visit.

Day 5 (Sun)
Beijing/Xian
Fly into Xi’an today and on arrival visit the Provincial Museum & Big Wild Goose Pagoda, check into your hotel for the night at the Jian Guo Hotel Xian.

Day 6 (Mon)
Xian
Full day excursion to the Terracotta Warriors Museum, and visit to the ceramics & pottery workshop en route. Enjoy a Dumpling Dinner and Tang Dynasty Show tonight.

Day 7 (Tue)
Xian/Chongqing
Fly to Chongqing, visit the Panda Zoo and enjoy a locally flavoured hot pot dinner before boarding the MV President Prime Cruise (Deluxe 5 Star Cruise, standard cabin with balcony).

Day 8 (Wed)
Three Gorges
Set sail for your 430 mile cruise through the breathtaking gorges and deep mountain valleys. Take an optional shore excursion in the morning to the ghost city of Fengdu, where the temples reveal ancient Chinese religion and legends including the ghost statue where people pray for good luck. In the afternoon a visit to Sibaozhai is included.

Day 9 (Thu)
Three Gorges
Today will be spent sailing the Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge, experience the changes in the river from wildly stirring to swirling bubbles. The mossy cliffs are hemmed by the pathways under the twelve peaks. When the boat gets to the famous Shennog Steam, change to a smaller vessel and sail further into the gorge. In the afternoon, return to the MV President to continue sailing into the Xiling Gorge.

Day 10 (Fri)
Yichang/Shanghai
Today you will sail by the Three Gorges Dam site and pass through the five ship locks where the boat will be lowered down 412 feet, before ending the cruise at Yichang where you will disembark and be transferred to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. Stay at the Ocean Hotel Shanghai.

Day 11 (Sat)
Shanghai
Full day visit to the Yu Garden, Shanghai Museum, the Bund and the Xintiandi and Pudong new development zone. In the evening enjoy the famous Shanghai Acrobatic Show.

Day 12 (Sun)
Shanghai/Suzhou/Shanghai
Today, visit the water town of Suzhou including a trip to see the Garden of the Master of Nets, cruise on the Grand Canal and the Silk spinning factory finishing with a chance to explore the Pingjiang Road Old Town area.

Departure transfer to airport for your flight home.
