Perched atop a luscious hill nearby to Castries, this gorgeous All-Inclusive retreat evokes a serene ambience away from other livelier resorts. We find that this is the perfect getaway for those who love to immerse themselves in nature, with beautiful birdsong and luscious flora creating a breath-taking scene.

The bungalows and rooms here evoke a classic St Lucian charm, with Caribbean-style furnishings and amazing views of either the tropical gardens or the glistening ocean. As an adult-only resort, the atmosphere here is always serene and quiet, yet still close by to busier areas including Pigeon Island and Rodney Bay.

We love that this resort offers an exclusive feel, making you feel as if you’ve been invited to a private club, where days are spent relaxing by the freshwater pool or dining al fresco on the Verandah Restaurant’s scenic terrace. Just a 15-minute drive from Castries – the capital of St Lucia, this glorious retreat offers awe-inspiring views of the Caribbean Sea. Close by to Rodney Bay and Pigeon Island, there is plenty to see and do here – though we do recommend taking the resort’s shuttle as Bel Jou is nestled atop a steep hill with no pavement.

  • Standard Courtyard Bungalows – Charming bungalows with a king-size bed, an ensuite with a shower, French doors leading out onto a terrace, and views of the tropical gardens. Sleeps a maximum of two adults.
  • Partial Ocean View Rooms – Spacious and stylish rooms featuring partial ocean views, featuring two double beds and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. Sleeps a maximum of three adults.
  • Ocean View Rooms – Spacious and stylish rooms featuring beautiful panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, featuring two double beds and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. Sleeps a maximum of three adults.

  • Verandah Restaurant – The resort’s main restaurant, serving up a delightful mix of international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Savour delicious flavours as you enjoy the ocean views from the terrace.
  • Verandah Bar – Boasting a sensational menu of local cocktails alongside wine, beers and non-alcoholic drinks, this cool bar is a great spot to spend warm St Lucian evenings. Open 12pm-3pm and 6pm-11pm.
  • The Cabana Lounge Bar & Eatery – Cosy and inviting, this restaurant is the perfect spot to grab a quick drink or light snack throughout the day. Located adjacent to the pool, we love the daily afternoon tea here, served between 4pm and 5.30pm. Open 12pm-6pm for food, and 11am-7pm for drinks.

Dress Code: During the day, guests can wear beach casual attire – though swimwear must be dry and covered. After 6.30pm, guests must adhere to a ‘resort casual’ dress code, with no shorts, t-shirts, ripped jeans or flip flops allowed.
