The island is steeped in history, having been colonised by both the British and French and is home to Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

 Just 2 miles east of St Kitts, the island of Nevis is primarily dominated by its 3232ft peak, creating stunning panoramic views across the Caribbean. Nestled amongst tropical landscapes and palm-studded shores, Nevis offers the ultimate in secluded retreats with the serene sands, rural mountain roads and cultured, rustic towns; this hidden gem is the region’s best kept secret.

The islands are super accessible, with is great air connections making it almost unforgivable not to visit them both at once! How to get here

There are two weekly direct flights from London Gatwick with British Airways to St Kitts. Flights are also available via Antigua. Hotels in St Kitts are a short transfer from the airport. Nevis is a short water taxi from St Kitts.

Eating

St Kitts and Nevis does an excellent job in providing food for every occasion and for every budget. As well as cheap local specialities, such as goat water stew, there are also many fantastic high-class restaurants serving innovative menus including the open-air Mango at Four Seasons Resort on Nevis and the famous Royal Palm on St Kitts.

Drinking and Nightlife

Beach bars are a drinking mainstay here. Look out onto the blue waves, walk barefoot on the sand and try any number of the delicious cocktails available. It’s definitely worth trying the local Shipwreck Rum too.

Climbing and hiking

Hike your way to the top of the tallest peak on St Kitts; Mount Liamuiga offers a stunning view from the top and makes for a very different experience than your standard Caribbean holiday. This is really a nation where it pays to make the most of the natural beauty.

Volcanoes

Nevis Peak, a 3,232ft volcano shrouded by clouds and surrounded by active hot springs, provides an unforgettable backdrop for your island getaway. You could even join in on a guided hike to see its beauty up close - it's a tricky one, but certainly reaps incredible rewards.
