Overview

A dream wedding for those adventurous souls, Diamonds Dream is a resort where the enchanting power of nature blends in with the exotic style of beautiful Indo-Arab buildings to offer you a mesmerizing charm, which in Swahili, is called “bembeleza”.

Set on the glistening coastline of Malindi, this tranquil retreat is exotic and serene, epitomising relaxed beachfront getaways where you can really unwind. Your wedding here will be incredibly stunning, decorated with colourful flowers and lovely palm leaves; with our delightful Classic Wedding, you’ll also be treated to a bottle of sparkling wine, wedding cake and a romantic seafood dinner served at the beachfront a la carte restaurant.

Each luxurious suite is spacious and elegant, welcoming you to a soothing respite at the end of the day. All suites feature a king-size bed, a luxury en-suite bathroom with a Jacuzzi bathtub and plush bathrobes, a private terrace with Balinese sun loungers, and many more pampering facilities. There’s plenty to do here too, you could spend hours admiring the sublime vistas on the beach or around the pool, or you may enjoy exploring the fantastic neighbouring sights, indulging in heavenly treatments at the Mvua African Rain Spa, snorkelling around the crystalline waters or delighting in fabulous evening entertainment.

There are two restaurants and two bars to enjoy, each serving a sumptuous selection of fresh, delicious cuisine inspired by the local surroundings. For a truly indulgent and luxury honeymoon experience, we recommend going all-inclusive – enjoy snacks, refreshments, spirits and cocktails, as well as all meals served in the Main Restaurant, a daily room service for breakfast and filled minibar, along with many more wonderful services.

Affidavit – This document is a signed statement made by both Bride& Groom in the presence of a solicitor in which they swear that information given is true.  The document must be drawn up on headed paper of the solicitor who must then stamp & sign it.

Letter Of No Trace - This is a document required in some destinations, which states that there is no impediment to the proposed marriage.  These certificates vary in the length of time they are valid so it is important to check which apply to your circumstances.  The certificate is prepared by the Superintendent Registrar at the Register Office in the area you live. This replaces the old advice for the Certificate of No Impediment. A no trace letter costs £50 and can be obtained from the General Register Office by calling +44 (0)300 123 1837 (8am to 8pm Monday to Friday).

Before you travel:

Guests marrying at hotels in Kenya will need to send original documents via DHL to the resort at least 12 weeks before the date of travel.  If marrying on safari, please remember that you will need to spend at least 2 working days in Nairobi to complete wedding formalities before travelling to your chosen safari.

Translation of documents

All legal documents must be in English or legally translated into English. All translated documents must be from a legal translator with letterhead, stamp and seal from the translator's office or notarised by a Notary Public.  Occasionally the documentation will have to be sent to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for their approval before being sent back to the notary to sign.

The Wedding Ceremony

In most destinations, your wedding ceremony will be conducted Monday to Friday (excluding local holidays).  In some destinations, local festivals and holidays will determine available wedding dates.  Generally, your wedding will take place in the grounds of the hotel unless otherwise specified.  Many hotels offer wedding gazebos for extra privacy.  Some hotels may offer more than one wedding per day with the first wedding taking place at around 10am with the last wedding at 4pm.  The majority of our weddings are conducted by a marriage officer whose title varies depending on the resort.  Where it is possible to be married by a Minister, the ceremony will be non-denominational unless otherwise stated and will be a Civil wedding.

Tropical Sky Weddings and the information given above only apply to couples that were born in the UK or Ireland and hold a valid UK/Irish passport (with at least 6 months validity on return home).  If couples do not fulfil these requirements they must advise us.  Couples should be referred to the embassy of the country of origin and the country where they wish to marry as they may require extra documentation to satisfy their own embassy requirements – Tropical Sky cannot advise on this and couples must investigate this on their own. As Tropical Sky weddings have no jurisdiction over hotels/resorts/venues/legal requirements and their charges, we cannot be responsible for any increases or changes to these wedding arrangements.  We will, however, endeavour to advise you of changes as soon as we are made aware of them.
