DAY 1

Arrive Cape Town International airport where you will be met and assisted with the collection of your rental vehicle – category B – type Nissan Tiida or similar as well as presented a detailed travel digest with point to point route descriptions.
Overnight on a bed and breakfast basis in a superior room at the Mount Nelson Hotel. The hotel is located at the base of Table Mountain, offering easy access to the city, beaches, Nation al Botanical Gardens at Kirstenbosch and the Table Mountain cableway.

DAY 5

Start you overland journey along the Garden Route. Overnight on a bed and breakfast basis in a standard room at Rosenhof Country Lodge. Dating back to 1852, this lodge has been beautifully restored and furnished with antiques and fine South African art. DAY 6

Depart Rosenhof and drive towards Knysna, perhaps stopping off to visit the Cango Caves followed by a visit to the Cango Wildlife Ranch. Overnight on a bed and breakfast basis in a deluxe suite at the St James. The St. James of Knysna is an exclusive, owner run, 5-star country house. The luxuriously appointed rooms offer spectacular views across this peaceful lagoon to the dramatic Knysna Heads or over the magnificent three-acre gardens. All are beautifully decorated and furnished with antiques.

DAY 7

DAY 8

Depart Knysna and travel through to Port Elizabeth where you will return your vehicle to Hertz before your flight to Johannesburg. On arrival in Johannesburg you will collect your new rental vehicle and travel the short distance to your hotel. Overnight on a bed and breakfast basis in a standard double at The D’Oréale Grande. This five-star hotel offers luxurious accommodation in palatial-style buildings surrounded by beautiful gardens, fountains and statues.

DAY 9

Depart by vehicle to Kapama – approximately a 5–6 hour drive. Overnight on a full board basis in a standard room at Kapama Main Lodge. is located on 12,000 hectares of bushveld populated by a wide variety of species including the “Big Five”. Guided walking tours and game drives are offered daily. Kapama Lodge has views across a lake and is located in the heart of the reserve. There are 20 air-conditioned en suite thatched chalets set in indigenous gardens. Timber walkways link the reception area, central lounge, library and dining area. There is a teak leisure deck, an ideal location for bird watching or for enjoying afternoon cocktails. Kapama Reserve hosts the world-renowned Hoedspruit Research and Breeding Centre for Endangered Species. DAY 12

After your morning game drive and breakfast, depart via the Panorama Route, including the Bourkes Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon and Pilgrims Rest.
Accommodation will at Walkersons Country Manor which resembles a Scottish Highland estate and is surrounded by rivers, streams and lakes. All of the 21 suites come complete with log fireplaces, extra length king-size beds, television, telephone and a fully equipped drinks cabinet. Each suite has a private patio and is lake facing.
