This 22-mile-long island is one of the most southerly in the Caribbean and is mainly undeveloped, with most hotels located around the fine beaches of its south west corner. Known as the Spice Island, Grenada is a large producer of nutmeg, mace, cinnamon and cloves and their aroma can often be smelt on the gentle breezes. The island was created from a now extinct volcano and is covered in rainforests and magnificent waterfalls.
